Description
the windows System Event Log is filling up VERY quickly with an alternating sequence of two information items:
- XENAGENT is the source. the event ID is 7. the text just says, "The tools returned from suspend"
- Kernel-General is the source. event id is also 7. the text changes in the specific time details, but is always essentially the same: "The system time has changed to 2017
0827T06:39:21.058000000Z from 20170827T06:39:21.058000000Z."
Which, as you can see, is not a time change at all. These messages stated coming about 12 hours after the upgrade to 7.2, and are coming ever 1 minute, exactly. Occasionally the time is changed by 1/10 of a second or so.
Is there a way to stop these messages from filling the event log?
I don't know if this is related, but just prior to these messages starting, there were two instances of the following event log warning:
Source XENVBD. event id 126:
The description for Event ID 129 from source xenvbd cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
\Device\RaidPort0
Nothing was being done on the server when this started. it was 1:40 am on sunday and there was no one working.
thanks
